Being both practitioners and educators, we understand the importance of skills, as (individuals, organisations and countries) who develop their skills, do far better than those who don’t.

There is no mystic about skill development, it’s just a simple process of making continuous improvements relating to a specific ability. For example, most people tend to develop professional skills usually through attending schools, colleges and universities. However, fewer people aspire to the next level in developing advanced professional skills such as mastering problem-solving, dealing with complex situations, managing change, professional communication, planning, etc. While even fewer people attempt the next two levels: 1) Personal Development such as improving personal qualities, thinking skills, task achievement, maximising potential and 2) Life Management as the provision of these subjects are far less available, less organised and are rarely taught.

Ralph Waldo Emerson said “Life’s about the journey, not the destination.”
but it’s what we make of the journey that influences the quality of our lives.
